About Us
This club goal is to create a safe space for all hispanic/latinos particularly for Dominicans Our club will focus on promoting aspects of our culture regarding our history, our traditions and how our sense of community is very important to us. Our goal is to shine a light or show another side to the hispanic/latino culture, regarding the struggles our country has endured in the past and what we are currently enduring, our struggles with self identity and to show similarities and differences within other Caribbean cultures. This club will try to have regular meetings during the beginning of the month and an event towards the middle or end of the month where the executive board either comes up with different small events like general meetings where we have discussions about important topics going on in our community in Gettysburg or in the world and also events like game nights with food and snacks. All of the events and activities are to bring people together to bond and to create a community and space for mutual understanding whether you are of Dominican descent or simply like to learn about the Dominican Republic.
