Constitution Day Forum- Democracy Week
"Rebuilding Trust in Government"
Representative government is the foundation of our republic - it's guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. But public trust in government has reached historic lows. According to the Pew Research Center, barely 1 in 5 Americans trust the federal government to do the right thing. Confidence in elected leaders has taken a nosedive. How can it be restored? In our interactive Constitution Day forum, we engage the audience in Q&A with a bipartisan team of lawmakers: former U.S. Representatives Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and John Yarmuth (D-KY). They'll offer an inside look at the impact of public opinion on governing, and strategies to restore trust in institutions, and the people who lead them.
