- *This session is for students only (faculty/staff should sign up for a faculty/staff session). EngageGettysburg Registration is required to attend this training. Check-in will be at the entrance.
- *You must complete the full training session to receive a sticker that indicates training completion. If you cannot attend the full training, please sign up for a different session in the future.
- *Please bring your own food/snacks to eat during the session.
Session Description:
LGBTQ+ Awareness and Advocacy Training is a 4-hour training designed to introduce LGBTQ+ terminology, issues, resources, and information. This training involves a combination of lecture, interactive activities, and discussion. Participants will learn how to practice effective allyship and advocacy, with all identities and their intersections in mind.
All participants may receive a sticker after completing the training and agreeing to be an advocate for LGBTQ+ individuals. Students are invited to add this training to their resume. Faculty/Staff are invited to put their sticker in a visible place within their office or on their office door. This training is facilitated by the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center.
All training sessions are for everyone (For LGBTQ+ folks looking to learn about their own community, and non-LGBTQ+ folks looking to learn how to be better allies). Faculty/staff should sign up for a Faculty/staff session. Students should sign up for a student session. Please email adelgaud@gettysburg.edu or gsrc@gettysburg.edu with any questions.
