Membership BenefitsLeadership Development: Sigma Chi's mission is to develop values-based leaders committed to character, campus and community. Sigma Chi begins developing leadership in its members after they sign a bid to join the Fraternity, immediately through an 5-week leadership development program.Academic Assistance: The Fraternity encourages and enhances academic performance through a scholarship program that encourages tutoring and study skills education. We strive to have our chapters consistently out-perform the All-Men's and All-Fraternity averages.Scholarships: The Sigma Chi Foundation offers over $300,000 in educational scholarships each year. Members of Colonies and Chapters may apply for scholarships as soon as they pledge the Fraternity.Diversity: Sigma Chi strives to recruit members who have different temperaments, talents and convictions, and who share the same core values. We are committed to developing and expanding our diverse membership.Career Development: Alumnus brothers offer real-world education in a variety of career fields; some will offer internships and employment networking.Philanthropy: The Fraternity places a strong emphasis on serving others. Philanthropic projects are a major focus of activity for Sigma Chi. Sigma Chi's sponsored philanthropies are the Children's Miracle Network and the Huntsman Cancer Research Center.Publications: The quarterly Magazine of Sigma Chi is sent to brothers to update them on the activities of the Fraternity on an International scale.Krach Leadership Training Workshop: Every summer, brothers from all over North America gather for a three-day leadership training workshop to learn leadership skills, discuss chapter development, and share their best practices. Colonies and chapters may send five members free of cost, are eligible to receive travel stipends, and Colonies receive expansion specific training. This past summer, over 1900 undergraduate leaders attended our Workshop at Purdue University.Horizons Huntsman Leadership Summit: Horizons is a leadership development experience for qualified undergraduate Sigma Chis with at least one year remaining in college, and who wish to improve their understanding of leadership as it relates to personal development, group dynamics, and intentional efforts to make positive change in the world. The program is offered at no cost to the participants thanks to the generous support of the Sigma Chi Foundation and the Sigma Chi Canadian Foundation.Grand Chapter: Every other odd-numbered year, Sigma Chi hosts its Grand Chapter where undergraduate members conduct the business of the Fraternity and elect the International Officers of the Fraternity. This year, Grand Chapter will take place in Washington, DC in June.International Brotherhood: Sigma Chi is a large International Fraternity.
