Meet the ES DEIBJ Board


Meet this fall’s Student Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Justice (DEIBJ) Advisory Board! We are a group of ES majors of varying concentrations and class years dedicated to the betterment of DEIBJ actions in our department. We plan events and promote them on social media, keep a two-way dialogue regarding curriculum with professors, and make newsletters to keep the students in the loop!

Apply to be a research assistant for Professor Orga's research tracking and assessing news and media about wildlife reintroduction in the U.S. The position can be found on Handshake and the deadline is October 4th at 6:00 AM.

Get Involved!


Gettysburg Environment Concerns Club!
Are you interested in joining a club that addresses environmental concerns and practices sustainability? Join GECO, they are hosting lots of fun events this year and are eager for new members. Their club hours are Wednesdays: 7-8 pm in Plank 112. Some special events to look for are Indigenous People's Day on October 16th, the Halloween meeting on October 29th, and the Thanksgiving meeting on November 20th. 
Some other fun activities that GECO plans to do are: sustainable, tie dye, learning to sew, planetarium presentations, and volunteering at Painted Turtle Farm.

Volunteer at Painted Turtle Farm!

Are you interested in farming, gleaning, and practicing sustainability? Volunteer at Painted Turtle Farm! Their normal shifts are Wednesdays 7-9 am, Wednesdays 4-6 pm, Sundays 2-4 pm, and they also have intermittent shifts. Click the image to sign up for shifts!
They also have community nights on Monday nights which include activities for families with plots on the farm, click here to register. 

Need to go grocery shopping? For the remainder of October, walk to the Adam's County Farmer's Market on Saturdays 8 am-1 pm! Support local businesses and get involved with the greater Gettysburg community! Click the image to the left to view their website!
