JCCTL & Provost's Office - An Experiential Documentary

In Spring of 2026, the capstone course for Cinema & Media Studies had nine graduating seniors. In addition to their individual capstone projects, the entire class was turned into a veritable production company, with each student adopting specific roles, and where they had an actual local client, the Migrant Education Program in Adams County.

This client formulated a documentary project that included the interviewees, the questions asked of them, and what locations and activities could be captured on camera. The capstone class facilitated the actual media product. The result is a 57-minute documentary entitled Harvest of Minds: The Untold Story of Migrant Education in Adams County that is about to be premiered on October 18th at the Majestic Theater at noon.

On October 15th Professor James Udden (and possibly one student) will be presenting on the entire process of experiential learning project that is directly involved with local issues in Adams County. There will be a sneak preview of the opening fifteen minutes of the film that will be presented in its entirety on the 18th.
