The Michelle Lynette Hughes Alumni Women of Distinction Award

It is with profound admiration and gratitude that we present you with the Michelle Lynette Hughes Alumni Women of Distinction Award to Amanda Bazemore Class of 2010. Your unwavering dedication to empowering others and advancing equity embodies the very essence of this award.

Throughout the years, your leadership, resilience, and vision have been a guiding force in reconnecting and uplifting Gettysburg College’s Alumni of Color. Because of your persistence and commitment, the Gettysburg Alumni of Color Council has flourished, creating a space where students and alumni alike can find support, community, and inspiration. Your dedication to mentorship, community engagement, and advocacy has strengthened our institution and touched the lives of so many.

As the first President of the Gettysburg Alumni of Color Council, you took on an extraordinary challenge and turned it into an opportunity for transformative change. Your ability to bring people together, uplift voices, and drive meaningful action has set a standard for leadership that will resonate for years to come. Your work has ensured that Gettysburg College is not only more inclusive today but will continue evolving toward equity and justice in the future.
