The Office of Multicultural Engagement promotes an inclusive campus culture, one where students are encouraged to engage through participation in initiatives and programs which stress the value of the breadth of backgrounds at Gettysburg College.
Through campus programming, student engagement, and Immersive experiances, the office seeks to create distinctive opportunities for healthy discourse, allowing students to feel empowered sharing aspects of their own perspectives and experiences, which will benefit and strengthen understanding, collaboration, and personal growth.
Initiatives offered by the Office of Multicultural Engagement include:
One-on-One mentorship for first-year students.
Partnerships with campus services to support upper class students for internships and study abroad opportunities
Co-curricular programming with faculty to enhance critical study, thought, and reflection around issues of society, and lived experiences.
Social programming and off-campus trips
Supporting student groups in creating meaningful programs and events that enhance campus life.
๐ฟ Weekly Affirmation: Rest Is Productive ๐โจ
“I honor rest as a source of strength. By slowing down, I restore my energy, clarity, and purpose.”
Reflect:
Rest is not a pause from progress it’s part of it. When you give yourself permission to rest, you make space for healing, creativity, and resilience. How has rest helped you show up more fully in the past?
Act:
๐๐พ Create a Rest Ritual – Choose one intentional moment this week to truly unplug and recharge.
๐ง Release the Guilt – Remind yourself that rest supports your goals; it does not delay them.
๐ฟ Protect Your Energy – Say no when needed and honor your boundaries without explanation.
You are allowed to slow down. Rest is resistance. Rest is renewal. โจ๐
