🏂 Saturday, February 17th Trip: Official Announcement & Registration! ⛷

Hi Everyone! Our next Ski Club Trip will be taking place this upcoming SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH!

Do not forget to fill out the Google Form at the bottom of this email to secure your spot on the trip! The Google Form MUST be filled out by this Wednesday, but please try to fill it out ASAP for a better chance at getting a spot on the trip! (We tried to time sending this email out when most classes have ended for the day and more people are free!)

Because we had so much interest in our last trip, anyone who was not able to attend our past two trips will be prioritized on this trip, to ensure fairness and an equal opportunity for everyone! The Google Form will stay open, and you will receive a final confirmation if you are able to attend, based on your past trip attendance! In other words, filling out the Google Form this time does not secure your spot, but you will be notified when/if you receive a spot!

A reminder that for this weekend's trip: we are asking everyone to contribute the $5 for their rentals (please message us with any financial concerns or questions)! 💳

A few important details to keep in mind, please read!:

  • We will be leaving Campus at about 2:45 PM, arriving at Liberty just past 3:00 PM, when the College Special Begins.

    • DON'T FORGET YOUR STUDENT ID! Everyone will need to have theirs on-hand as proof of college enrollment when we pick up your ticket!

    • The mountain closes at 10 PM, however we will likely be returning at around 8:00 PM. If you would like to stay later (til close) please ensure you have transportation, and contact us with any issues!

  • Anyone who needs a ride/transportation to the Mountain MUST meet us in the Constitution Lot, behind Glatfelter and the Science Center.

    • If you are able to carpool/transport others, please make sure you confirm it on the Google Form, as well as meet us at 2:45 in our designated spot!

  • Still trying to assess the feasibility of trips during the week - please fill out the form to express your interest. 

    • Due to the hard-to-beat College Nights Special offered at Liberty every Saturday this year, we are finding it hard to reasonably fund trips during the week, as they are twice the cost of tickets on Saturday, and more than 50% off the rental cost, and rentals come with everything for $5. 

    • We want to do what works best for you all, however we also unfortunately may not be able to accommodate all 250 of your schedules and requests! 

Please know that we are trying to do the best we can while working with so many of you, in addition to us having a limited budget from the Senate!

The weather for this upcoming Saturday is expected to be colder than this past weekend! AccuWeather estimates that afternoon conditions will be Sunny, with a high of 33°F and a low of 21°F! 🌤🧊

SO many new people are joining the club too, which is awesome!! we started out at the activities fair in the fall with 113 members, and now we have 250!!!

We may have to go back to the Student Senate/Budget Committee & petition that hopefully they’ll give us our original budget we had asked for, so that we will be able to continue funding trips with so many more of you guys than we expected, we are going to try our best to make that happen!! 🤞🏂

IMPORTANT:

Cancellation/No-Show Policy

Please be aware that as mentioned, we are paying for these tickets up front, and they are only available for a specific day/time-frame. The tickets will also be under each of your names. Because of this, we are going to wait until shortly before our trip to purchase tickets online, giving everyone as much time as they can to let us know of any reason you may not be able to attend. If you do not show up to a ski trip, OR let us know less than 24 hours before the trip that you are not able to make it, you will be 100% responsible for reimbursing us the cost of your unused ticket. This Saturday 2/3, tickets are $39 with the Student Discount! Thank you all for keeping this in mind as we are working with a limited budget from the Student Senate, and are also trying to allow as many members to ski as many times as possible! 😊

You must secure your registration by filling out this Google Form!

In order to officially let us know that you will be able to attend our second trip, you are required to fill out the Google Form! This will be the same process for our future trips this semester! Failure to fill out the form will result in no guaranteed transportation, tickets, lessons, or rentals paid for by the Ski Club! We need to purchase tickets, rentals, and lessons that are specific to the day of our trip, and under your name!
