The Black Student Union is a group where people get together and learn about the ethnic heritage of African, African American and Caribbean culture and to expose the many contributions of the black men and women of the Diaspora. It is a great way for Black students to meet other students like them and form long lasting friendships.

The International Club seeks to promote a multicultural exchange of perspectives between international students and all of the students, faculty, administrators, staff, and members of the local Gettysburg College community. It encourages to welcome of new international students with as much support as possible, including the creation and strengthening of bonds between students and the school’s environment.

Apart from helping you hone soft skills such as time management, offering opportunities for you to meet new people and establish a support system, exposing you to new ideas, joining the International Club provides you with a space to learn about, celebrate, and appreciate various cultures, their people, diversity, and values from a more diverse point of view. As there are many international students in this club, members of the International Club can expect to broaden their worldviews and their understanding of the experiences of people from all over the world, as well as hone multicultural communication skills. As the world is increasingly becoming interconnected, having a global perspective would certainly help one stands out in the job market.

The Japanese Culture Club aims to provide an experience of Japanese Culture on our own campus. Japanese food, movies, anime, calligraphy, and festivals are the activities we want to bring to Gettysburg. Our goal is to do this in an inclusive setting that doesn't require any previous experience with the language or culture to participate.

Membership Benefits
Members have the ability to become club leaders and vote for future club leaders. They also have priority in special club meetings such as attending the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC.

Our club works to celebrate and empower Indigenous narratives and culture in the Gettysburg community and Gettysburg College campus while educating ourselves and the community and bringing awareness of adversities that Indigenous individuals and communities face.

Land Acknowledgement: Gettysburg College is on unceded Indigenous land including the traditional homelands of the Susquehannock/Conestoga, Seneca and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Leni Lenape, and Shawnee Nations, and the connections of Indigenous Peoples to this land continue today. We have a responsibility to honor these connections and we strive to understand our place within the past, present, and future of this Indigenous land by reflecting on our relationships with the human and other-than-human relatives with whom it is shared.
