Celebrate the vibrant sounds and rhythms of Latin American musical traditions with the Sunderman Conservatory Symphony on November 22 at 8:00 pm at the Majestic Theater. The program brings together beloved classics, popular canciones, and new works, showcasing boleros, dances, and new compositions. Featured pieces include Rhythm Dances by Brian Balmages, Estampas by José Elizondo, Danza No. 4 by Ludovic Lamothe, the timeless bolero Bésame Mucho by Consuelo Velázquez, and Estrellita by Manuel Ponce.
A highlight of the evening will be the world premiere of Canción de la Gente, an overture by Gettysburg’s own student composer, Penelope Michua-Brooks.
