If you have additional questions, please reach out to your Co-Curricular Advisor or email pathways@gettysburg.edu.
Do I need to be in the Guided Pathways to apply for funding?
Yes, and you must be an active Guided Pathways student to be awarded funding. Active Guided Pathways students are characterized as such by attending at least one meeting with their Co-Curricular Advisor each semester, and being up to date on their Reflection submissions.
If I am a Guided Pathways student, is it a requirement to apply for funding?
No! The Guided Pathways Fund is an opportunity, not a requirement.
What is an experiential learning opportunity?
An experiential learning opportunity eligible for this fund is an experience outside of the classroom for which you are interested in participating, that provides you with practical experience related to your future academic, leadership, or professional goals.
Can you give me examples of experiential learning opportunities?
Not sure if your experience fits? Please ask your Co-Curricular Advisor!
Can I apply for funding if I am getting paid or receiving a stipend for my experience?
Possibly. In your application, you can discuss your need for additional funding.
Do I need to have secured an opportunity to apply for funding?
If you do not receive your acceptance to your opportunity by the deadline to apply for funding, you still must apply in advance of the due date if you anticipate needing the funding when you receive your acceptance. If you are not accepted to the opportunity for which you applied, you will not be funded.
Will late applications be accepted?
No late applications will be accepted under any circumstances.
What are the deadlines to apply for the Guided Pathways Fund?
How quickly will decisions be made after the application due date?
Please allow at least two weeks for the funding committee to review applications and make decisions about funding.
If I am selected, how long will it take for me to receive the funding?
Once you have received a funding decision and completed your acceptance paperwork, it takes an additional 3 - 4 weeks to process payments.
Is there a minimum or maximum amount of funding available?
No, but as a portion of your funding application, you must submit a detailed budget proposal to outline your expenses.
How detailed should my application be?
Your application is an opportunity for the funding committee to get to know you and your interests. The more detailed you are in answering the questions, the better the committee will be able to assess your experience and interests as they relate to funding opportunities. Please ensure that you have answered all parts of each question within the application, including the budget proposal, to the best of your ability.
If selected, will I receive the exact amount of money I requested in my application?
Not necessarily, but the funding committee does their best to meet the needs of the recipients.
How many times can I apply for Guided Pathways funding?
You may apply for funding as many times as you would like. However, depending on the application pool, first-time applicants may be given preference.
I received funding and completed my experience - what happens next?
If you receive funding for an experience, you are required to submit a Reflection about your experience within 30 days of the conclusion of your experience, as a condition of your use of the disbursed funds. You will also be required to write a thank you note to the donors who made funding your experience a possibility.
How do I access the Guided Pathways Fund application?
