How do I complete the Guided Pathways?
You will need to meet with your Co-Curricular Advisor at least once per semester, at minimum, throughout your four years at Gettysburg. You must also submit Reflections at the introductory, exploratory, and consequential experience levels in the Career Development Pathway, as well as introductory, exploratory, and consequential experience Reflections in a Pathway of your choice. Your Co-Curricular Advisor will read, assess, and approve your Reflections as you submit them.
How do I track my progress through the Guided Pathways?
In engageGettysburg, select the "My Checklists" tab within the menu on the homepage, and click on the Pathway you would like to view. Reflections approved by your Co-Curricular Advisor for their corresponding experiences will show a purple check mark.
How do I review my approved Reflections?
There are two ways to review your Reflections in engageGettysburg!
1. From the engageGettysburg homepage, select the "My Surveys/Forms" tab in the menu. All Reflections will be listed here, with the word "Approved" highlighted in green.
2. From the engageGettysburg homepage, select the "My Checklists" tab in the menu, and click on the Pathway you would like to view. Approved Reflections will have a purple check mark next to the corresponding experience, and the Reflection document will also be linked below it for you to open.
How do I edit a Reflection that I have already submitted?
From the engageGettysburg homepage, select the "My Surveys/Forms" tab in the menu, and scroll down until you see your Reflection. If your Reflection must be edited and resubmitted before it can be approved, it will be marked as "Requires Modifications." Your Co-Curricular Advisor will always reach out via email with editing instructions and an updated due date for your resubmission.
Can I submit Reflections that are past due?
No, past due Reflections will not be accepted.
When are Reflections due?
When can I complete a Consequential Experience Reflection?
Consequential Experience Reflections are only accepted if you have the appropriate prerequisite Reflections approved. You must have at least one approved Introductory Experience Reflection and at least one approved Exploratory Experience Reflection in the same Pathway for which you would like to submit your Consequential Reflection.
It is always recommended that you discuss your experience with your Co-Curricular Advisor before submitting a Consequential Reflection!
Do I need to complete Reflections every semester?
Not necessarily. We want you to reflect on experiences that are both meaningful to you and that you have completed. It is not uncommon for there to be semesters when you have more than one Reflection to write because you have completed multiple experiences, and other semesters where you do not have an experience to reflect on because your experience(s) are ongoing.
How do I earn a Guided Pathways crewneck sweatshirt?
You will earn your Guided Pathways crewneck sweatshirt when you have approved Introductory and Exploratory Reflections in both the Career Development Pathway and one other Pathway of your choosing.
Do I have to meet with my Co-Curricular Advisor every semester?
Yes! This helps to ensure that you are on track to complete the Guided Pathways and to remain an active participant in the program.
Are the Guided Pathways required?
No, but it is a great opportunity! The Guided Pathways is an opt-in program that begins your first year and continues through your senior year.
