The International Youth and Students for Social Equality is the student and youth movement of the world Trotskyist movement, the International Committee of the Fourth International.

We insist that all the great problems confronting humanity in the 21st century—war, poverty and social inequality, the drive toward fascism and dictatorship by governments internationally—are the outcome of capitalism and can only be addressed through the taking of political power by the working class and its establishment of a socialist society, founded on genuine equality.

In order to fight for socialism today, young people must understand the history of struggles of the working class in the 20th century. As part of its fight to build a global movement against imperialist war, the IYSSE is educating youth in the history and principles of Trotskyism, the Marxism of the 21st century.

The Butterfly Coalition is dedicated to supporting, empowering, and advocating for undocumented, mixed-status, and immigrant students at Gettysburg College. In a time when immigration policies and public discourse continue to shift and often create uncertainty, TBC exists as a space of stability, trust, and community. We aim to foster a campus environment where students impacted by immigration can feel safe, seen, and valued without pressure to disclose their identities. Our mission is rooted in creating both protected spaces for those directly impacted and educational spaces that engage allies in meaningful, informed ways. TBC works to challenge misinformation, reduce stigma, and promote awareness of the structural and personal barriers that immigrant communities face, particularly within a predominantly white institution. Through advocacy, programming, and collaboration with campus and local organizations, we seek to amplify student voices, expand access to resources, and build a more inclusive and accountable campus community. At our core, we believe in collective care, intersectionality, and the responsibility to uplift one another as we work toward long-term institutional change.

Membership Benefits
Membership in The Butterfly Coalition provides students with access to a supportive and intentional community centered on care, understanding, and shared growth. Members benefit from safe and, when needed, confidential spaces where they can engage in open dialogue, share experiences, and find solidarity without fear of judgment or exposure. TBC offers opportunities for personal and professional development through leadership roles, event planning, advocacy work, and collaboration with campus departments and community organizations. Members gain access to resources related to immigration, identity, and navigating institutional systems, as well as connections to broader support networks both on and off campus. For undocumented and directly impacted students, TBC serves as a space of belonging and affirmation. For allies, membership provides structured opportunities to learn, reflect, and engage responsibly in advocacy efforts. Through workshops, discussions, and community-based initiatives, members develop critical awareness of social issues while contributing to meaningful change. Overall, TBC membership is designed to empower individuals, strengthen community ties, and create pathways for both support and action.

At the confluence of culture, curiosity, and caseiculture, the Collegiate Society for the Advancement of Cheese Appreciation seeks to interrogate the metaphysical essence of curd itself. We are not merely consumers of fromage but pilgrims upon the rind-lined path of gustatory enlightenment. Through the shared communion of coagulated milk solids, we endeavor to transcend the pedestrian and approach the sublime — one bite, one board, one brie at a time. Our mission is to cultivate discourse that pairs as elegantly with Stilton as it does with Sartre, affirming that in the pursuit of cheese, we find the very texture of being.

Mission
The Sharon Statement

In this time of moral and political crises, it is the responsibility of the youth of America to affirm certain eternal truths.

We, as young conservatives, believe:

That foremost among the transcendent values is the individual's use of his God-given free will, whence derives his right to be free from the restrictions of arbitrary force;

That liberty is indivisible and that political freedom cannot long exist without economic freedom;

That the purpose of government is to protect those freedoms through the preservation of internal order, the provision of national defense, and the administration of justice;

That when government ventures beyond these rightful functions, it accumulates power, which tends to diminish order and liberty;

That the Constitution of the United States is the best arrangement yet devised for empowering government to fulfill its proper role while restraining it from the concentration and abuse of power;

That the genius of the Constitution—the division of powers—is summed up in the clause that reserves primacy to the several states, or the people, in those spheres not specifically delegated to the Federal government;

That the market economy, allocating resources by the free play of supply and demand, is the single economic system compatible with the requirements of personal freedom and constitutional government and that it is at the same time the most productive supplier of human needs;

That when government interferes with the work of the market economy, it tends to reduce the moral and physical strength of the nation; that when it takes from one man to bestow on another, it diminishes the incentive of the first, the integrity of the second, and the moral autonomy of both;

That we will be free only so long as the national sovereignty of the United States is secure; that history shows periods of freedom are rare and can exist only when free citizens concertedly defend their rights against all enemies;

That the forces of international Communism are, at present, the greatest single threat to these liberties;

That the United States should stress victory over, rather than coexistence with, this menace; and

This criterion must judge American foreign policy: does it serve the just interests of the United States?
