Elections

Elections are the responsibility of the Vice President of Student Senate. For first year senator positions, elections start at the beginning of every year. For every other grade year, elections start at the end of each spring semester. Executive board elections also start at the end of every spring semester.

  1. Qualifications

    To run for President/Vice President, one must be a rising junior or senior, must have a cumulative gpa of 2.50, and must be studying on campus for the full year of term.

  2. Upcoming Dates:

    Election Information Sessions with the Executive Board:

    March 21st, 12:30pm EST

    March 24th, 5pm EST

    March 26th, 2 pm EST

    Join the current executive board in an informational zoom session, where you can ask anything and everything about elections. You will also have the chance to have a one on one session in a break out room with certain executive members if you are interested in running for their position.

    Saturday, April 3rd, 12pm EST:  Applications due for Presidential/Vice Presidential Candidacy

    April 6th, 8pm EST: Gettysburgian Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidate Panel

    Join us on Zoom to hear more from the candidates, as they will be sharing their views and goals of how senate will work for you during their terms.

    Tuesday April 6th — Sunday April 11th: Election period

    All Gettysburg Students are encouraged to have their voice heard and vote.

Technocratic Elections

  1. Qualifications

    To run for any technocratic position, one must be a rising sophomore/junior/senior, must have a cumulative gpa of 2.50, and must be studying on campus for the full year of term.

  2. Upcoming Dates:

    Saturday, April 10th, 12pm EST: Applications due for technocratic positions

    Monday, April 12th, 7pm EST: Senate Forum for Technocratic Q&A

    Senate meeting will be replaced with a Q&A for all technocratic candidates. The election occurs directly after the Q&A, with results to follow.

    April 17th, 12pm EST: Applications due for class officer and senator positions.

    All grade levels are encouraged to vote for their respective class senators (4) and class officers for the upcoming year.
